in response to PJsMom...   You are smart. It is temporary and you know you will get through it and look back on it from a much much better place one day! It will be here before you know it so hang in there and keep your head held high!

in response to Bee's Knees...   :) yes I got VERY lucky with this houseing. First time EVER to be placed in public houseing and it's a nice home. Before this we were living with friends and it was tough! I STILL look forward to the day though that I can move out of here into my own place and free this place up for someone else in need like I have been. :) Thanks for the advice and support, it is very much appreciated!!

in response to Bee's Knees...   Thank you that is all great information! I have never been in this position, so trying to figure out just where to go for assistance is rough. I especially hate going somewhere and being treated like I choose to live this way.......

I'd love to find a place that charges only $300 rent! That is great! Also, have you checked fastweb.com for scholarships? They are a huge search engine that can hook you up with opportunities to be granted money from various different sources. There is money out there for college students, if you are willing to take the time to apply. Write a good summary to copy and paste in multiple scholarship apps and see what happens!
All the best to you!

Have you checked into getting assistance with your utility bill? Salvation Army has helped me in the past and there is also an assistance program through the government, paid by a grant. You should call them. Also, you can call Dept of Human Services for advice about agencies offering help. This is a tough time a year for everyone. You can also rest assured that they cannot cut off anyone's heat, by law, in winter.
